The Savings
What kind of savings can we expect from the Dry Lube System?
In most cases the cost of the Dry Lube system is less expensive than the cost to purchase detergent alone.
The Dry Lube system is extremely cost effective; it reduces or eliminates the costs of water, effluent & detergent while also significantly reducing energy usage. In addition Dry Lube also creates savings by increasing line productivity, reducing product loss, doubling the lifetime of the conveyor belt, reducing cleaning & maintenance costs and most importantly creating a safer working environment for staff so reducing accidents and injury.
Improving line productivity also helps to increase revenue.
Please look at the savings section of our website to see how the Dry Lube System can make savings for your business.
Environment
Are there any environmental advantages of the Dry Lube system?
There is a significant reduction in water consumption and no detergent is used. In some of our installations there has been a reduction in trade effluent of over 300ml per litre of product.
Hygiene
Will the Dry Lube System have any effect on bacteria within our bottling plant?
There is nothing in the lubricant to promote the growth of bacteria. This will stop unpleasant odours following any weekend shutdowns etc.
Will we need to increase our hygiene schedule?
Results have shown that cleaning the conveyors prior to installation of our system will result in a reduction in the hygiene schedule required for on-going cleaning. This is due to the fact that there is no build up of residue under the conveyors.
Health & Safety
Are there any Health & Safety advantages of the Dry Lube system?
As the quantity of lubricant used is so small there is no residual lubricant on the floor. Floors are clean and dry leading to a decrease in possible LTAs - minor accidents have been reduced by up to 50%. The Dry Lube System provides a cleaner, safer and more pleasant working environment.
Why use Dry Lube
With regards to lubrication, what are the main advantages of the Dry Lube system?
Your lines will benefit from the high specification oil we use as our lubricant. Reduced friction and proper lubrication of the conveyors and wear strips will result in extending the lifetime of your equipment. In one case study, our system reduced the frequency of changing the belts from once every two years to once every four years. The savings are estimated at around €15,000 per annum per packaging line
Why Dry Lube instead of another dry lubrication system?
Dry Lube has been proven over the years with different types of packaging (PET, glass, cans, kegs, Tetra Pak etc). We are the market leaders and believe we have more dry lubrication systems in place than any of our competitors.
Why Dry Lube instead of another company?
At Dry Lube we have only one product in our portfolio. We are totally focussed on line lubrication and provide our customers with a complete turn key package that eliminates the problems of a critical area of their production, namely bottle handling. This allows our customers to redeploy manpower to other areas of the process.
Our focus on service and slat lubrication only enables us to employ engineers with many years bottling line experience allowing us to offer real value add solutions.
On Preparation for Installation
Do we have to clean our lines before the Dry Lube system can be installed?
It is not absolutely necessary (except with stainless steel conveyors and glass containers) but we would recommend that you do. This will optimise the system from day one and lead to reduced hygiene schedules in the future.
Will we need to shut down our lines for the Dry Lube system to be installed?
No - there will be minimal interruption to production during the installation process.
On Installation
What is the process for having the Dry Lube system installed?
Following an initial meeting to discuss the system and any particular bottle handling issues you may have, we will carry out a full survey of your line(s), design a system that meets your requirements, submit a quotation and install at a time that is convenient to you. This process should take no longer than one month.
How long will it take to install the system?
Depending on the size of the system required, it will take an average of 3 - 4 days plus one day to commission.
Running with the Dry Lube System
Will the Dry Lube system leave any residue between or underneath our conveyors?
The lubricant used by Dry Lube Ltd contains no solid particle additives (PTFE etc) therefore there is no build up between the links or underneath the conveyors.
How much lubricant will be required?
This is based on the amount of lubrication points and the time that the lines will be running for. However, on average our system requires 4 litres per line per week.
Maintenance & Servicing
Who will maintain the system?
Dry Lube will be totally responsible for all installation, maintenance and servicing work. It is also our responsibility to top up the lubricant reservoirs.
When will the system need to be replaced?
The system will last as long as it is required. As part of your service contract Dry Lube provide maintenance and replacement parts.
Is there a 24 hour emergency call-out service?
Yes. However, the nature of the system is that, even in the unlikely event of a total break down of the pump, the lines would continue to operate for 24 - 28 hours before causing any production problems.
Will we have our own Dry Lube representative throughout the duration of our contract?
Yes. A point of contact will be assigned from the moment of the first meeting, throughout the installation process and during the entire time that the Dry Lube system is fitted to your lines.
Trade Accreditations & Health & Safety Certificates
Do you have any professional or trade accreditations?
We are currently working towards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001.
Do you have any food standard certificates?
Yes, we are recognised by the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) International who certify products for food water air and consumer goods. Our Registration Number is 137484.
