Dry Lube Ltd is the conveyor lubrication partner of Aston Manor Cider.
Dry Lube initially provided a system to Devon Cider in May 2006. They were subsequently taken over by Aston Manor and the managers were so impressed with the performance of the system they rolled out the technology on their 3 packaging lines at their Birmingham site in 2010.
When compared to the previous wet lube systems, they receive annual savings of:
- 3.25 million litres of water
- 44,500 kWh of energy
- 37 tonnes of CO2 emissions
Overall, their Dry Lube system has saved:
- 18 million litres of water
- 225,000 kWh of energy
- 188 tonnes of CO2 emissions
Paul Clifford, Engineering Manager for both sites, said “I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the conveyors and performance of the pressureless combiners at speed at Devon Cider. We decided to adopt the system across our complete bottling hall at Birmingham, replacing a wet lube system. After implementation, improvements in safety were noticed immediately as a result of having dry floors and staff were most pleased with the general improvements to the working environment.
Our contract bottling line runs a large variety of glass and PET and needs no lubricant adjustment at changeover which helps maintain consistent operations and our high production levels.
We are well supported by Dry Lube technicians and their customer focus on site is very much appreciated. All this has given Aston Manor every confidence to work with Dry Lube; quite simply we wouldn’t put a new line in without it.”
