Transforming Working Environment
The Dry Lube System has an immediate positive impact on slip, trip and fall incidents. Significant improvements in the working environment around packaging lines have reduced minor accidents from slips, trips and falls by up to 50%/annum.
The Dry Lube System leaves no reside on the production lines. We have had examples of our customers not needing to clean their lines for two years.
The Dry Lube System does not support the growth of bacteria associated with wet lubrication systems. The result is our clients do not have to stop their lines for cleaning, the atmosphere is cleaner and the bad odour usually associated with these production lines disappears.
Significant Financial Savings
As the Dry Lube System reduces friction between conveyor belts and wear strips the frequency at which the belts need to be changed has been reduced from once every 2 years to once every 4 years. Savings are estimated at around €15,000 per annum, per packaging line.
Savings in water usage equate to €1,750 – €2,800 per annum based on a water charge of €0.7/m3.
The elimination of the use of detergent results in a cost saving of €37,500 – €90,000/annum. This is based on a consumption of 3,000m3/annum of water with 0.75-2% soap concentration with detergent priced at €1.5/litre.
Maintenance costs are reduced by at least €3000/annum per packaging line.
For a new line there will be capital cost savings as a result of savings in water handling equipment and reduced effluent treatment requirements. In addition, there is no need to install drip trays, soap storage areas or new effluent treatment facilities and associated pipe work.
Savings of €3,750 – €6,000 per annum are made due to the reduction of treatment of effluent water and water discharge levies.
Big Water Savings
Bottling plants and food manufactures are increasingly coming under pressure to use water more sparingly. Our customers have experienced a significant reduction in usage of water - over 300ml per litre of product.
Reducing the Environmental Impact
Because Dry Lube use a food safe oil instead of a detergent based product we dramatically cut down on pollutants. Our own oil based product is used in such small quantities it leaves no residue.
Dry Lube's system means there is no need to dispose of detergents and other dirty waters associated with wet lubrication. This alone is a significant improvement to the environment.
Improving Line Performance and Productivity
The Dry Lube System reduced friction between the bottles and the conveyor. This has resulted in a minimum increase in utilisation time of around 1.5-2% due to reduced incidents of falling bottles. One case study has shown a productivity improvement of 20% since the system was installed two years ago.
Because the Dry Lube System is clean our customers no longer have any downtime as a result of line cleaning.
